We just about went gaga over this handmade coffee filter garland wedding idea by Pam Garrison. If you’re looking for an eye catching, simple and eccentric DIY wedding day project, this garland could easily be incorporated into your color scheme or wedding decor.
Pam says she was inspired to create this idea after seeing a gorgeous garland strung in an Anthropologie store window display. Using the basic {and cheap} materials of coffee filters, tissue paper, extra scraps, dye and string, she created this delicate and lovely garland.
Though Pam doesn’t give specific DIY instructions on her site, I think it’s safe to say that the process is pretty straight forward and foolproof. Basically, make a hole in the center of the coffee filters/tissue paper/scrap paper and then thread the string through. After each bundle, tie a knot in the string and then continue the process.
Consider putting your own twist on the idea by using decorated cupcake liners, ribbons, stringing on some striking jewels or by lightly misting your garland with glitter spray. The sky is certainly the limit with your own design.
What are your thoughts of this DIY wedding idea? Would you consider incorporating coffee filters into your wedding day decor?
